Changes to National Living Wage for Employers
Starting 1st April 2025 new National Minimum Wage rates will apply to workers in the UK. Employers must ensure they are paying their employees at least the legal minimum rate. Here are the updated hourly rates:
Aged 21 and above (National Living Wage): £12.21
Aged 18 to 20 inclusive: £10.00
Aged under 18 (but above compulsory school leaving age): £7.55
Apprentices under 19: £7.55
Apprentices aged 19+ in the first year of their apprenticeship: £7.55
Employers can use the National Minimum Wage calculator to check if they are paying the correct amount or if they owe any back payments to their workers. Make sure to stay updated and compliant with the minimum wage laws to avoid penalties.
