At the end of August we held our first joint NetWalk with Newcastle NetWalk. Over 20 business owners and professionals came along and we enjoyed a lovely, sunny morning exploring the recently restored Castlewellan Forest Park, while everyone chatted about the plans and challenges of their business. This was followed by coffee and scones, kindly provided by Hillyard House Hotel. Everyone left buzzing!

Our NetWalks are all about creating authentic connections through informal chatting in a relaxed environment. Definitely none of the formal and forced feel that can sometimes come from traditional networking. Nor are there any pitches or presentations that take you away from getting to know the other attendees.

Thanks to support from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, what started as a simple idea in Downpatrick is now growing and providing connections to our local business community across a wider area.

We are delighted to announce that Down Business Centre is expanding our FREE monthly business networking walk across three towns in County Down:

Downpatrick — our monthly NetWalk at Fodder NI

Newcastle — now free for all to attend, thanks to our sponsorship from DBC and NMADDC supported by South Prom

Castlewellan — a new quarterly NetWalk in partnership with Hillyard House Hotel.

There are plans afoot for further locations too.

This means there’s now a regular NetWalk somewhere in the district for every business owner to connect and collaborate. It’s great to support, and be supported by, our local business community.
