From Downpatrick to the Canton Fair: Sourcing for Success Returns This November
Following the success of our February workshop, which saw a group of local businesses travel to China’s Canton Fair.
In February 2026, Down Business Centre hosted a Sourcing for Success workshop for business owners who wanted to find out how to source products from overseas suppliers. It was widely attended and has created more interest from other businesses.
The workshop didn’t stop at the room. Inspired by what they learned, a group of attendees decided to see global sourcing for themselves and travelled to the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China. The Canton Fair is one of the world’s largest trade fairs, bringing together thousands of manufacturers and suppliers across almost every industry.
A successful trip
The group has reported a very successful visit. They met suppliers face to face, explored new product opportunities and came home with practical ideas for growing their businesses.
Since returning, Down Business Centre is going to work with them to enhance their business opportunities.
It is exactly the kind of outcome we hope for: a workshop that gives local businesses the confidence and know-how to take a big step, and continued support from Down Business Centre afterwards.
