Linda takes the Chair

We are delighted to announce that Saintfield business woman Linda Beers is the new Chair of Down Business Centre.

Linda was appointed at our October Board Meeting and will serve as Chair for two years.

A highly experienced Strategic Marketing and Communications Consultant, Linda established her business – Inform Communications – in 1984 and has worked for many of Northern Ireland’s leading Public, Private and Voluntary Sector organisations. In 2018 Linda took the decision to step back from running a busy consultancy and now focuses on providing strategic advice and mentoring to a wide range of clients – including local businesses on the NMD Business Growth Programme

Commenting on her appointment in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, Linda said –

“These are difficult times for all of us. Whether you run a business or are employed in a business, the stresses of the last nine months have challenged even the most resilient amongst us. What the next few months will bring, let alone the next two years, is impossible to predict. What I am sure of, however, is that Down Business Centre will be ready and able to play its part in the recovery of our local economy. Whether it’s in the provision of our business accommodation, in our encouragement and support of people taking their first steps into self-employment or in helping established businesses survive, develop and grow, the DBC team will continue to play a very vital economic development role and to deliver for the people of the Newry, Mourne and Down region as a whole”.
